Everywhere, s o far as they cn follow i t s text through time and
space and the m y s t e r i e s of Being that balk t h e i r further p r o g r e s s , i t
invites the critical examination of Astronomers, G e o l o g i s t s , Anti
quarians, P h i l o l o g i s t s , La wy e r s , P h y s i Q i a n s , C h e m i s t s , T h e o l o g i a n s ,

earth i s . formed and carried at the center of a whirlwind or vortex

formed and carried 1n t h i s way, and the sun i s the sedimentary ball at
the center of the great vortex which carries the solar s y s t e m . Each

But all t h i s i s incidental t o the p r e s e n t a t i o n of mundane h i s
t o r y , with which we a.re more Lmmed.La tely concerned. Beginnlng eighty
four tho1.1sand years ago, with the f i r s t s e l f - c o n s c i o u s b e l n g s s and
tracing our p h y s i c a l , intellectual, s o c i a l , moral and spiritual d e
velopment from that dim dawn t o t o the luminous inaugural of the Kosmon
Era, in the middle of the nineteenth century, it not only a n t ed a t e s ,
supplements and. corrects all o t h e r profane and sacred h i s t o r i e s , but
invests them with a d e e p e r meaning a larger signifigance and a more

dramatic interest than they ever had f o r u s b e f o r e . Reading the
r e l i g i o u s and c i v i l h i s t o r y of Japan or G r e e c e or Rome or A m e r i ca , or
any other country without t h e key t o i t s C o s m i c r e l a t i o n s h i p and un

l e t with the part of Hamlet expurgated; and the study the Christian
B i b l e , the Koran, the Book of :Mormon, the B i b l e s of the O r i e n t , or
t h e myster i es of Theosophy and C h r i s t i a n S c i e n c e , without having
f i r s t read Oahspe i s t o be ever learning, but never coming t o the
Truth--lost in a m y s t i c maze of fragmentary and. perverted t e a c h i n g s .
The reader s o o n d i s c o v e r s that h e must radically r e v i s e r not only
h i s ideas of C e l e s t j _ a l Cosmogony, but t h e order and s i g n i f i c a n c e of
names and t i t l e s commonly applied t o the Transcendental Brethren.
The great Provinces of Etheria are p r e s i d e d over by C h i e f s , c h o s e n
for t h e i r s u p e r i o r development in wisdom and l o v e . For our solar
s y s t e m to c r o s s one of t h e s e Provinces requires about three thousand
y e a r s , and betw,3en them are b e l t s of high Etherian L i g h t � which take
several years t o pass over. The passage of each Province i s a cycle
of earthly h i s t o r y , and. the c r o s s i n g s , called Dawns of Dan, are the
inspirational and revolutionary periods by which we mark one cycle
from another.
At each Dawn of Dari. t h e Etherian C h i e f w h o s e Kingdom we are
entering comes down - t o the' c i t y of G o d , in A t m o s p h e r i a , with as
many tens or hundreds of millions of Etherian angels as may be
needed to c l o s e up the affairs of the old c y c l e , and e s t a b l i s h in both
heaven and eaz-bh the b e l i e f s , principles and tendencies that are t o be
dominant in the succeed:lng one .. There are p e r i o d s cf darkness and
d e c l e n s i o n in every c y c l e , d.uring which men and angels become more
or l e s s d e m o r a l i z e d , and thousands of millions of earth-bound s p i r i t s
accumulate t o i n f e s t and polute the earth. These are always gathered
u p , and carried a.way, t o be educated for Etheria in heavenly places
from whence they cannot return t o the e a r t h . The Atmospherian God
and h i s Lords, and the angels they have prepared f o r the Etherian
R e s u r r e c t i o n , are taken back with them, and the administration of th
earth and the attendant heavens intrusted t o a newly chosen G o d , with
Lords and other o f f i c e r s s u f f i c i e n t f o r the work b e f o r e t h e m . All t h e
Atmospherian Gods and Lords are one-time mortaJ.s, who lived t h e i r
a l l o t e d s p a n . o f earth l i f e r. and then went on laboring and learning

i s t r a t i o n i s i n s ta l l e d . But during p e r i o d s of darkness, wDen few are
thus prepared for t h i s third r e s u r r e c t i o n , and t h e y are needed t o help
in the strenuous struggle against the fore es of e v i l , there are no mi'
gra ticns t o E t h e r i a , and God and h i s Lords continue at t h e i r p o s t s of
duty for four, s i x or eight hundred y e a r s t- All the Atmospherian
G o d s are far inferior in wisdom and power to the Etherian C h i e f s
and have seldom or never been beyond the Bridge of Chlnvat--the
boundary of the Atmospherian Vortex--at the t i m e of t h e i r inaugura
t i o n . By a sort of p o e t i c l i c e n s e , and because the words have been
invested with such subliminal s i g n i f i c a n c e the Etherian Chiefs are
sometimes called Gods and L o r d s ; but such minor t i t l e s should never
be u s e d when speaking of Jehovih, t h e Supreme C r e a t o r .
People i n t e r e s t e d in Aerial Navigation will be glad t o know that
both the Atmospher1ans and Etherians travel in b oa t s and s h i p s of
all sorts and s i z e s , from the l i t t l e messenger craft, capable of over
taking the s w i f t e s t planets, to the great transpoTts in which hundreds
of millions of arige Ls speed from star t o star w1 th all the palatial
comfort and splendor of a heavenly c i t y e I t i s only in the time of Dan
that the dazzling Etherian f i r e - s h i p s are s e e n by the A t m o s p h e r i a n s ;
and t h o s e are great times for them, and busy t o o , for t h e y have sev
eral years of strenuous labor helping the Etherian H o s t s cleanse
heaven and earth from the e f f e c t s of darkness and d e c l e n s i o n . And the
greatest scenes of glory are at the c l o s e , when the Etherian C h i e f ,
w i t h h i s hundreds of m i l l i o n s of archangels, and the reti r ing G o d ,
with h i s Lords and t h e thousands of millions of t h e i r exalted angels,
crowned and marshaled for a s c e n s i o n , take leave of the new God and
Lords and m i l l i o n s of friends and companions who a r e t o remain,
enter the Etherian transports, large and brilliant as flaming worlds,
and s a i l away t o t h e transcendental realms.
During seventy thousand years of racial infancy, the struggle of
J e h o v 1 h 0 s Gods and Lords and ascending angels was against the e l e
mental ignorance and inevitable darkness of men and A,ngels not yet
capable of much l i g h t ; but the adolescent p e r i o d , known t o us as that
of legend, myth and m a g i c , and corresponding in racial evolution t o
the individual unfoldment from f i f t e e n to twenty, introduced new and
mighty factors on b o t h s i d e s ; and i t i s h e r e that the story begins t o
s t r i k e with damrn.ng fact and r e l e n t l e s s l o g i c at t h e h i s t o r i c a l ba s i s
of modern s o c i e t y and the foundations on which our c i v i l i z a t i o n has
been b u i l t . Always and everywhere t h e central purpose of J e h o v i h 0 s
government was L i b e r t y , and more L i b e r t y , and s t i l l more Liberty,
with all the consequences of i t s . w t s e or unwise u s e , t o G od s and
angels and men, in a l l � t h e kingdoms of heaven and e a r t h . As a conse
quence t h e s e kingdoms were always near the brink of d i s a s t e r ; and
often fell into darkness and tribulation, for lack of a l i t t l e more
wisdom and power� be meet the emergency s u c c e s s f u l l y o But 1 t was now
t i m e for Ms.n t o be s t i l l further emancipated into h i s own keeping,
and for angels t o b e � t e s t e d as never b e f o r e in the work of establish

Among men great kings began t o r i s e , w i t h a m b i t i o n t o rule over

heavens powerful a n g e l s , a s p i r i n g t o be Gods b e f o r e t h e i r t i m e , began

beginning of that form of government for t h i s p l a n e t . It was called

and D i v i n i t y o r i g i n a t e d .
In glancing over t h i s most dramatic and romantic p e r i o d of
human evolution, we must deal c h i e f l y w i t h the eleven great M e s
s i a n i c Prophets of Jehovih on one s i d e , and an equal number of great
F a l s e Gods on the o t h e r ; for without a knowledge of t h o s e inspired
and a s p i r i n g characters all modern h i s t o r y i s u n i n t e l l i g i b l e . The
F a l s e G o d s , we m u s t understand, were produced b y , and r e p r e s e n t e d a
g i g a n t i c m i s - d i r e c t i o n o f , the same unfolding Energy of t h e r i s i n g
race. that called f o r , and m a ni f e s t ed i t s e l f tn , the h i s t o r i c Supermen who
wrought and taught s o m i g h t i l y in J e h o v l h 9 s na m e , and strove t o
d i r e c t the dynamic Energy they p e r s o n i f :t e d into t h e t rue channels
of Eternal P r o g r e s s . I t must a l s o be noted that no True God or Lord
ever claimed t o be t h e Creator of any thing or any b o d y , or p e r m i t t e d .
h i m s e l f t o be worshiped by men or a n g e l s , but always upheld and
proclaimed J e h o v i h , a s the Supreme Creator of a l l , to whom a l l p r a i s e
and worship was due f o r e v e r .
Through t h e previous a g e s , w h i l e t h e larger part of humanity
was s l o w l y p r o g r e s s i n g from barbarism, w i t h many r e v e r s e s , and some
p e r i o d s of almost universal b r u t a l i t y , t h e r e w&s one race of a radi
cally d i f f e r e n t t y p e . Elemental, i n s t i n c t i v e and c h i l d l i k e in some ways,
they were yet c o n s t i t u t i o n a l l y bound t o the true w o r s h i p of J e h o v i h ,
t h e p r a c t i c e of H i s p r e c e p t s , and communion w i t h t h e Organic Angels
appointed t o attend them by J e h o v i h ' s G o d . From the b e g i nn i n g
t h e y had been v e g e t a r i a n s , m o n og a m i s t s and n o n - r e s i s t a n t s , � r e f u s i n g ,
even in s e l f - d e f e n s e , t o take the l i f e of man or b e a s t . They wore
c l o t h e s , b u i l t h o u s e s , c u l t i v a t e d t h e ground, had a w r i t t e n language,
and s t u d i e d the arts and s c i e n c e s for hundreds of c e n t u r i e s b e f o r e the
barbarians among whom they lived could be taught to d o l i k e w i s e .
They always lived t o g e t h e r C o mm u n i s t i c a l l y 1n v i l l a g e s and c i t i e s ,
had not private property, formed no government of t h e i r own, and took
no part in the government of o t h e r s T h e i r p r i n c i p l e s w e r e , t o be

d e s t r o y t h e m , but generally they were regarded w i t h gTeat reverence
and r e s p e c t in all parts of the world and known a s t h e Sacred P e o p l e ,

who must never be m o l e s t e d , e i t h e r by private robbers or tribes and
nations at wa r .
For nearly eighty thousand years they lived t h i s s i m p l e , glorious
heavenly l i f e , and were finally exterminated by t h e d e s p o t i c kings,
r a i s e d u p � a n d inspired by the False G o d s , whose c h i e f purpose was t o
forever abolish t h e � w o r s h 1 p of Jehov1h 1n heaven and earth. Amid the
general persecution and demoralization of that period some of them
became a p o s t a t e s , and their mongrel descendants were the famous W i s e
Men, Magicians and Astrologers of what we call the Ancient World �
. ' I t wa s among t h e s e Sacred P e o p l e , and t h e mingled people who
fo11owed them, with more or l e s s faithfulness t o the order of l i f e or
dained by Jehovih, that the great Pr-ophetis a p p e a r e d , and they were
always t h e product of inspired Eu g e n i c s A hundred years or more
in advance a large army of exalted angels would be sent t o the chosen
people, and they remained on duty, guarding and inspiring the b e s t
f a m i l i s , and bringing t h e right couples together generation a f t e r ,
generation, until t h e needed Superman was born and properly brought
up, at j u s t the t i m e and place d e s i r e d .
The work of all these great Millennial Prophets was practically
the same. Their m i s s i o n was to r e - e s t a b l i s h the Sacred People in the
ancient Unitarian, Communistic and Non-resistant d o c t r i n e s , and lead
an Evangelical movement which should add t o t h e i r numbers thou-
sands and millions of the b e s t developed barbarians and i d o l a t o r s . A l
ways they stood f o r freedom, and t h e i r appeal wa s t o the reason, con
s c i e n c e and. experience of all men. Wherever they went the peaceful
Communes were e s t a b l i s h e d ; s c i e n c e , learning and the industrial arts
revived, oppressive laws r e p e a l e d , kings persuaded or inspired t o
i s s u e decrees exempting the Prophet of Jehov1h and h i s people from tax
a t i o n , m1li tary duty, and the observance of other laws not in accord
ance with their mode of l i f e . Sometimes they revolutionized a na t i o n and
made 1 t their own, at other times led the people into the wilderness and
taught them how t o make i t blossom a s the r o s e ; and one of them,
:M o s e s , the Hebrew, took a whole nation from one country to another.
Never did they speak of a fallen humanity, a l o s t r a c e , an angry Je
h o v 1 h , or the need of salvation and a Savior, in any such sense as the
words have since been made t o bear. Their one g o s p e l of Salvation
to all men everywhere was that they should abolish t h e i r governments,
renounce private property and all means or efforts for personal ag
grandizement, gather t h e m s e l v e s " t n � C o mm u n e s , and f e d e ra t e the Com
munes in a Free Theocracy, thus establishing J e h o v i h 0 s Organic King-
dom on earth a s it i s in heaven. �
The f i r s t of t h e s e eleven great Millennial Evangelists was Zo
raster, who came at the Dawn of Dan, nine thousand years a g o , and
labored among the g r e a t e s t and m o s t enlightened people of that day,
while the host of v i s i t i n g Ether1ans were busy .above cleansing and r e
establishing the heavenly k i ng d o m s , and inaugurating a c e l e s t i a l gov
ernment appropriate t o the new age in . racial and planetary develop
m e n t . He laid the foundation in popular knowledge for the other
Prophets t o build upon, and wrote the f i r s t B i b l e , which wa s the ba s i s
of all the other Bibles that were written from. h i s day t o the time of
Mohammed.

A t the next time of Dawn, three thosand one hundred years l a t e r ,
four M e s s i a n i c :M a s t e r s appcared--Abraham in A ra b i a Brahma in

fully a c c e p t t h e i r way of l i f e , yet simple faith in t h e Great S p i r i t ,
a crude form of tribal communism, and enough of t h e Eugenic teaching
t o insure fine p h y s i c a l development, was maintained by h i s people
until the idolatrous and lic e n t io u s pale f a c e s came t o complete t h e i r
d o wn f a l l .
At the next great p e r i o d of c y c l i c change and renovation three
more mighty prophets were r a i s e d up t o r e - e s t a b l i s h f a i t h in J e h o v i h ,
and t h e p r a c t i c e of organic s o c i a l s o l i d a r i t y . They were M o s e s ' i n
Egypt, Capilya in India, and C h i n e , a f t e r wh om the country was

knowledge of Jehovih and the Organic L :l f e among men that i t could
not be entirely d e s t r o y e d by the most powerful and well managed con
federacy of False Gods that ever threatened t o capture the whole earth

i t s administration. The three greatest held. dominion over Arabia,
End.La and C h i na ; and in c o n c e r t w1 th them h e d e v i s e d a r e l i g i o and
