p i r a t i o n of the Creator within u s . You can be a fountain of
i n s p i r a t i o n for your own guidance and for helping o t h e r s , as

A man may work hard a l l his l i f e here on e a r t h , and be active in
many ways, and s t i l l a c c o mp l i s h nothing of real value to h i m s e l f
or o t h e r s . The fault i s not in h i m s e l f , but in the condition of
his world. In i t s present s t a t e , the vworld p l a c e s an ever-grow
ing burden upon the human soul a l l d u ri n g i t s l i f e . The Spark

of Divinity finds l i t t l e opportunity for e x p r e s s i o n , and has no
way, while a p e r s o n f o l l o w s the usual pathways, of g e t t i n g rid
of i t s psychic limitations. Of c o u r s e , There i s good in a l l

earthly e x p e r i e n c e s ; from them, the soul derives incentive for
growth, and receives many valuable l e s s o n s . B u t the cultivating
and developing o f the S t a r of Thy Presence within h i m s e l f , O
C r e a t o r , is ma n ' s g r e a t e s t challenge and his r e a l l y worthwhile
g o a l . Man in g e n e r a l , here on e a r t h , o e s not know the nature
of his r e l a t i o n s h i p to Th e e , d o e s not know he i s in e s s e n c e an '
immortal soul and that he is d e s t i n e d for e v e r l a s t i n g p r o g r e s s

In order to regenerate o u r s e l v e s , we must f i r s t know what is
w r o ng . Seeing the wrongs of our world i s part of our e d u c a t i o n .
But Thou art showing us the light side as w e l l , J e h o v i h . S e e i n g

other p a t h s . But Thine i s the s t r o n g e s t v o i c e , It i s no more
than is within every human being on earth--though many deny and

Our r e l i g i o n i s no more than t h i s . To do unto others as we
would be done by, and to p r a c t i c e g o o d w i l l and good works toward
o n e ' s f e l l o wm an - - t h e s e are basic p r i n c i p l e s of C h r i s t i a n i t y and
many other r e l i g i o n s . We d i f f e r in that we do not accept Jesus
as our saviour,nor worship him, nor hold to any concept of God
in the figure of a man. le have many names for Thee, our Crea
t o r , but they a l l represent the One Supreme Being, Who moves a l l .

spirits with mortals. Even the s p i r i t u a l i s t s d o not percieve
the extent to which mortals are ruled and a f f l i c t e d by earth
bound s p i r i t s . Our recognition of this f a c t , together with
our recognition of Thy Presence inour s o u l s ; and our aware
n e s s that with Thee we are m a s t e r s of the psychic conditions
in and around u s , e n a b l e s us to do a work o f upliftment
which would otherwise be i m p o s s i b l e . It i s Thy Presence in
mortal man that keeps him from being c o m p l e t e l y o b s e s s e d , and
e n a b l e s him to ma i n t a i n a degree of p e a c e , order and sanity in
his life.

We are all-dependent upon Th e e , O Jehovih, for l i f e , and for
a l l things necessary to l i f e . Thou art the A l l - P r o v i d e r . Y e t
Thou leavest us free as to our c o n s c i o u s n e s s . He can deny
Th e e , or otherwise shut out the awareness of Thy Presence,
and spend a lifetime building up conceit in s e l f ; but Thou
d o s t not deny us our l i f e , individuality and s e l f - e x p r e s s i o n .
If we shut Thee o u t , it i s our misfortune. But we gain valua
ble experience, and in the end we come to Th e e , and give our
selves to Thee in s e rv i c e . As children, we were not brought >
up to know that Thy A l l - P o t e n t Eye i s upon u s . We were born

into a world of separate s e l f s , and became separate s e l f s .
But we were so miserable in this kind of existence that we
prayed to Th e e , and sought a higher way. And Thy Angels help
ed u s . But Thou art not giving us a separate salvation. We
s e e that we must work with Thy 'ngels to help uplift our f e l
lowmen. Though we have gained a degree o f awareness and lib
e r a t i o n , we are s t i l l in the s e l f w o r l d , and partly one with
i t ; and our e f f o r t s must continue until we have accomplished
our all-highest m i s s i o n . We are keeping ourselves open to hear
Thy V o i c e , and to learn more and more about Thy Plan for us
and for the w o r l d .

People are wonderful when we learn
how to c a l l out the highest and be s t
that is in them. Might he not be
termed a w i s e man who can do t h i s ,
0 Creator? Y e t , a l i t t l e child can
do i t , simply by e xp r e s s i n g i t s n a t
ural s w e e t n e s s and g o o d n e s s , and in
nocence. Should we not strive more
to be loving and trusting than to be
keen of mind? The world i s full o�
great i n t e l l e c t s - - v e r y clever and
righteous servants of the public g o o d - - y e t something is lacking
in most of them, and in u s . Only occasionally do we c a l l out
the Divine in our f e l l o w s . We are d i s t ru s t i n g , and we get d i s
t ru s t . We are c r i t i c a l , and we get c r i t i c i s m . The l i s t of our
darker qualities is a long one. Can we be more childlike with
out being l e s s mature? That i s , more t ru s t i n g , more p r a i s e f u l ,
more loving and more joyful? We d o n ' t mean that we should be
foolishly simple. We can be more loving and giving by recogniz
ing Thy Presence and Power, 0 C r e a t o r , and by giving ourselves
to Th e e . Do we fear l o s s or harm to ourselves? This is p o s s i
bly the g r e a t e s t adult weakness. All things are Thine, O Jehovih
Take u s ; take a l l that we have. Use us in a finer, nobler way.

Thou art p r e s e n t , O C r e a t o r , under a l l conditions and circum
stances. Thou art always in control. Thou art always dominat
ing our c o n s c i o u s n e s s , and overseeing a l l that goes on in our
na t u r e s . Thy Wisdom in us enables us to see both s i d e s of ev
e ry q u e s t i o n and s i t u a t i o n , and t o judge people and conditions
as to right end wrong. But in the matter of choice as to our
own a c t i o n s , Thou d o s t not rule u s . In t h i s , Thou hast l e f t
us t o be c o n t r o l l e r s of our f a t e , But in this w o r l d , or the
n e x t , though we go the long way around, we must soon or late d e
v e l o p , through e x p e r i e n c e , into attuned and harmonious c o - c r e
a t o r s with Th e e , Thou hast made the earth d e l i g h t f u l for man;

and it is not always e a s y for us to choose the right way which
looks tiresome and unattractive in comparison. But the f i r s t
appearances are deceiving. We have found that the e a r t h ' s a t "
tractions turn out to be i l l u s o r y and u n r e l i a b l e ; and that t h ?
higher way, which holds out l i t t l e promise of reward at the t a r t ,
unfolds a happiness transcendent. We are repeating o l d t ru t h s ,

Cnly in T h e e , O C r e a t o r , is there any real h a p p i n e s s , Apart from
Th e e , happiness i s a d e l u s i o n ; and when the props are taken away
happiness g o e s w i t h them. It i s the same w i t h s e c u r i t y . Thou
art the Eternal Being. hen we identify o u r s e l v e s with Thee, de
feat and death no longer e x i s t for u s . Hhat seems to be failure
is only a temporary set-back which acts as an incentive for fur
ther growth. Thou w i l t never take Thyself away from u s , nor fail
us when we turn to Thee in time of n e e d . But we can separate our
s e l v e s from Thee in c o n s c i o u s n e s s , and thereby cut off Thy inspi
ration and support. These are not new thoughts. They are older
than time i t s e l f . But we have an urge and need t o r e - s t a t e them,
to impress them upon our c o n s c i o u s n e s s and our w o r l d , The ideas
are e x p r e s s e d from our having experienced their t ru t h . T h e i r val
idity has been proved in our own l i v e s ,
Thou, O C r e a t o r , art speaking in every s o u l . We would like to
find the words which can awaken the awareness of Thy Presence in
o t h e r s . But words are a l i m i t ed t o o l , Thou hast s o created man
that he learns the big l e s s o n s only by e xp e r i e n c e , A man's
thoughts and words have greater e f f e c t upon his nature than any
where e l s e . If a man w i l l learn how to talk with Th e e , his
C r e a t o r , Who i s p r e s e n t w i t h i n the soul o f every human be i n g ,

mu s t t u rn t o Th e e , and try to hear and S o l l o w Thy i n s p i r a t i o n ,
and thereby overcome the dark f e e l i n g s . If we do not do t h i s ,
i r r i t a b i l i t y b u i l d s up to anger, and then into hatred and vindic
t i v e n e s s . This i s n�hat happens with people in the world who are
not awake as s o u l s , and do not hear Thy V o i c e . These qualities
are the c a u s e s of w a r , and war i s h e l l . When we allow ourselves
to be i r r i t a b l e , we are tuning our natures with the wavelength

c h e l l . Suppose I am i r r i t a b l e this moment, and the f e e l i n g s
r e p o w e r f u l , being n o t j u s t personal to m y s e l f but of the m a s s
c o m p o s i t e . I might ask m y s e l f the q u e s t i o n : ' Wh o i s the m o s t pow"
c r l u l , t h e C r e a t o r o f the whole u n i v e r s e , t h e Supreme B e i n g , or
the m a s s darkness o f this tiny p l a n e t , E a r t h - - a mere speck in
i n f i n i t y ? " I f I am at a l l awake,and my purpose i s w i t h Th e e ,
Jehovih, I cannot be c o n t r o l l e d by any d a r k n e s s . I w i l l keep
a:firming Thy Presence and F o w e r , giving Thee my faith and de
v o t i o n , putting a s i d e as p e t t y and c h i l d i s h any p e r s o n a l mat
t e r s , d e s i r e s or opinions that may be part of the d i s t u r b an c e .
I f I am to be a good channel through which w o r l d darkness can
be l i b e r a t e d , I mu s t not l e t that darkness grip me and hold
o n , but mu s t l e t it flow onward and outward, giving it to Thee
w i t h my b l e s s i n g s . I believe I can learn to o v e r - ru l e every
attempt o f darkness to rule m e . For Thou art present and pow
e r f u l , Jehovih, and I am completely Thy instrument for world
upliftment,

We are often heavy in m i n d , ' d i s p i r i t e d , and not eager for l i f e
when we f i r s t a r i s e in the morning, O C r e a t o r , Thou s e e m e s t far,
far away. Dut we have found that practice with words of praise
and thanks, and j o y of l i v i n g , even chough we have no such f e e l
ings h e l p s to bring us ou o f tic dark s t a t e of c o n s c i o u s n e s s .
We know that as souls we love to sing Thy p r a i s e s , to affirm
Thy Power and G l o ry , and create with Thee for the good of our
f e l l o wm e n . It is not as though we were affirming something that
is not t ru e , It i s truer than the whole w o r l d ! In our true
s e l v e s , we are not sour, c r i t i c a l and d i s s a t i s f i e d . We are hap
py to be a li v e ; like l i t t l e children, eager for e xp e r i e n c e , an
ticipating only good from everybody and everything. Ve f e e l
that we can keep pouring forth from an unlimited souce--Thy P r e s
e n c e , O J e h o v i h ; - - a n d that in so doing we are being true to the
reality of our being, the A l l - H i g h e s t , and serving the b e s t p o s
sible good of all people. We would breathe a song of praise

souls of earth. Even though we do not knon a l l the other souls
on earth who are F a i t h i s t s in Th e e , and have no outer connec
tion with them, each one o f us i s supporting the others in un

mi) for the purpose o f exalting the s e l f , but to g l o r i f y
Th e e , and f u l f i l the purpose for which we were c r e a t e d . S o m e t i m e s
we f e e l that we can h e l p others through w o r d s , but it is so e a s y
to be mistaken end say the wrong t h i n g s , - - t h i n g s that would be
more disturbin g than u p l i f t i n g . Some truths w i l l help some
p e o p l e , but n o t o t h e r s . Words that are highly inspiring to one's
s e l f can be d e p r e s s i n g L o o t h e r s , or m i s u n d e r s t o o d , or confusing .
We are apt to be o v e r - e a g e r to explain e v e r y t h i n g , to t e l l the
whole truth as we see i t . Perhaps it i s b e t t e r to say nothing,
m o s t of the t i m e , and work with Thy An g e l s to inspire them rightly.
And e s p e c i a l l y d o e s i t seem right to be s i l e n t when our ad vice or
opinion is neither asked for nor expected. Our only purpose in
using words should be to serve Thee, O Creator, We want to learn
to use them under Thy Inspiration, and not from the proddings o f
the s e l f w o r l d .

Thou h a s t everything under c o n t r o l , O C r e a t o r . Thy Purpose i s be
ing f u l f i l l e d through u s . le might think that w e , in o u r s e l v e s ,
have conquered l i m i t a t i o n s , or r i s e n above d a r k n e s s , and made
p o s s i b l e the e x p r e s s i o n o f Light through u s . But i t i s Thee who
ha s t a c c o m p l i s h e d , and art accomplishing, Ail we d i d was to
c h o o s e to serve Th e e . Ve were born as separate s e l f s in con
s c i o u s n e s s , knowing nothing about our oneness with T h e e , or
about Thy ulership over u s . Because we were unhappy w i t h
ourselves and with the world in which we lived, we searched for
Thee, our C r e a t o r , c a l l e d out to T h e e , and chose to serve Thee
in order to escape our m i s e r i e s . This was not a noble p u r p o s e .
It was sheer d e s p e r a t i o n . Then Thy Purpose was revealed to u s ,
and we were shown that if we chose to make Thy Purpose the
foremost aim in l i f e , and p e r s i s t e d in i t , we could outgrow
our l i m i t a t i o n s and find h a p p i n e s s . Thou gavest us the inspira
t i o n , strength and p r o t e c t i o n we n e e d e d , without which we
could do nothing. Thou p r e p a r e d s t a way by which we were led
to find and a f f i l i a t e with others of like p u r p o s e . Thou d i d s t
everything for u s - - s m o o t h e d out the pathway, led us t o find
those who could help u s , created the place and environment Ve
n e e d e d , supplied the n e c e s s i t i e s o f l i f e , and brought t o us
means and experiences for the development of our t a l e n t s ,
s p i r i t u a l and p h y s i c a l from higher b e i n g s . Left a l o n e , re
would flounder helplessly. How can we take any pride in o u r c a l
ves or build up any c o n c e i t ? Only through knowing we are T y
c h i l d r e n , through awareness of oneness with T h e e , through living
to serve Th e e , are we able to f e e l s e c u r e , to know that our
lives are meaningful and valuable and that progress i s being
made toward a b e t t e r l i f e for a l l. If those who choose to
serve Thee, Jehovih, have any special v i r t u e , it is humility,
